On March 29th, President Michael Spence of the University of Sydney led a delegation and paid a visit to Tianjin University. Spence had an in-depth discussion with Hu Wenping, the Vice President of Tianjin University, about the cooperation between the two universities in the future. The delegation also visited the Center for Sustainable Information Architecture jointly established by the University of Sydney and Tianjin University.
Li Changqing, the Vice Dean of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering where the center is located warmly welcomed the delegation and gave a brief introduction of the past, present and future of the center. President Michael Spence elaborated the achievements of the center in the fields of energy and information. The two sides exchanged ideas about the future development of the center. Then the delegation visited the Smart Grid Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education and National “Distributed Energy and Microgrid” International Cooperation Base.
Established in 1850, the University of Sydney is one of the top research-based universities in the world. The University is highly regarded worldwide for its comprehensive strength. Dr. Michael Spence was nominated as the 25th president of the University in 2008.
