(1)Discipline Characteristics

National requirement: As one of the first batch of the National Talent Training Base for fostering high-level personnel of IOT(Internet of Things). the aim of this subject is to foster outstanding engineers through a variety of educational and teaching activities focused on IOT Technology and System Application, motivated by urgent needs in the development of the IOT industry.

Discipline integration: The Internet of Things is a comprehensive system integrating various cutting-edge technologies such as modern sensor technologies, signal processing technologies, large-scale integration circuit design technologies, communication technologies, and database technologies.

The department has state-of-art teaching faculties covering different disciplines and majors, all of whom have a strong technical background in the above-mentioned fields.

Innovation and practice: The Internet of Things is a broad concept that varies in its specific form. This subject not only teaches the fundamental theories and application technologies of IOT, but also has an excellent experimental environment and the atmosphere of university-enterprise cooperation. Stable off-campus training centers are established through joint internships with a number of enterprises, providing good practice opportunities and innovative platforms for the students.

(2). Training Objectives

Cultivating senior professionals with wide-base, high-quality, strong innovative spirit and practical skills.

Developing capabilities of design and research in the field of IOT;

Developing the skills to apply the theoretical knowledge and techniques in modern electronic systems and all kinds of information processing system research, design and manufacture.

3. Core Curriculum

1) Fundamental theories:

Fundamentals of circuit analysis, signals and systems, electronic circuits, high-frequency electronic circuits, digital logic circuits, digital signal processing, information theory and coding, communication principles, digital telecommunication, principle of automatic control and etc.

2) Professional Subjects:

Introduction to Internet of Things, wireless sensor networks and RFID, computer communications and network, big data analysis(English), digital image processing, electromagnetic fields and waves, internet of things application technology, modern digital signal processing, digital audio and video processing(English), electronic circuit design, sensor network design, IOT system design.
