Founded in 2004, Key Laboratory of Tianjin Electric Power System Simulation and Control, after years of enrichment and improvement, has become a modern experimental base integrated with teaching experiment and technology research. The laboratory has carried out a systematic and in-depth research work concerning power system simulation control, and has made important theoretical and practical achievements in the following research fields which have gained significant contribution to the development of China's power system:
1.Security and stability of large power grid: (1) analysis and calculation of grid operation mode; (2) theory and analysis of security domain; (3) grid operation safety monitoring and pre-warning technology; (4) optimal control and intelligence scheduling of grid operation; (5) large power grid planning, operation scheduling risk assessment, etc.
2.Analysis and planning of distribution system: (1) distribution system planning optimization theory and methods; (2) distribution system evaluation theory and methods; (3) distribution network analysis and operation optimization; (4) fast distribution network simulation and modeling.
3.Distributed generation and microgrid: (1) micro-grid optimization planning and design methods and software development; (2) micro-grid key equipment research and development; (3) micro-grid operation optimization; (4) distributed power grid-connected equipment.
4.The power system protection and control: (1) new technologies of UHV power grid relay protection; (2) microgrid protection and control; (3) distribution network small current grounding and line selection technology; (4) DC grid protection and control.
5.On-line monitoring of power equipment insulation: (1) on-line monitoring technology for intelligent power equipment insulation; (2) new insulation materials for HVDC cables; (3) safety of high temperature superconducting cable insulation system; (4) Environmentally friendly transformer oil with high thermal conductivity; (5) EHV / UHV power system external insulation safety.
