The Tianjin Key Laboratory of Brain-Inspired Intelligence Technology was established in 2020.
The laboratory is oriented to major national requirements, people's lives and health, and international academic frontiers. There are 33 permanent researchers.
The laboratory conducts research around the frontiers and needs of brain-inspired intelligence-related technologies, where the main research directions include brain-inspired visual perception, brain-inspired computing, intelligent medical imaging, and intelligent unmanned vehicles. In the past three years, the cumulative scientific research funding has exceeded 60 million, and it has undertaken more than dozens of national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, including the 2030 National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Major Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Project of National Natural Science Foundation. The laboratory has published more than 100 high-level papers, won Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award and other provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, and trained more than 100 postgraduates. The related techniques of the laboratory has been applied in intelligent systems such as unmanned vehicles, unmanned surface vehicles, unmanned rolling vehicles, intelligent transportation, etc., serving the country and Tianjin AI strategy development.
